Travel to The Minor Arcana

This is the classic card-back design of the original Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot deck, sometimes referred to as the “Roses and Lilies” pattern.
The rose and the lily have a long tradition in Western esoteric and heraldic symbolism:
- The rose was famously linked to the “Tudor rose” (the national flower of England) and also appears in many occult, alchemical, and medieval Christian contexts. The lily (or fleur-de-lis) is often associated with purity and with French/European heraldry.
- Bringing these two flowers together can be interpreted as a union of spiritual and earthly realms.
