78 Tracks for the Major and Minor Arcana

Over the Easter weekend I put together a tarot reading playlist with 78 tracks, one for each card in the Rider-Waite-Smith deck.

Some tracks fit a card because of their subject. Some match its atmosphere. Some reflect ideas that have come up through my work on Tarot Interviews and Tarot DMs.

This is by no means a fixed definition of each card, but something I like to use to meditate on each and discover deeper meanings in the symbolism. Music serves as a wonderful focus for this.

You can use the playlist in different ways. You might listen while doing a reading, writing in a journal, working on a creative project, or simply sitting with the mood of a particular card.

You could also draw a card and play its matching track as a starting point. If you get any uncanny coincidences coming up, please let me know!

Part of a wider project

The playlist sits alongside Tarot Interviews, Tarot DMs and the British Tarot Archive.

All three projects are interested in tarot as something living and contemporary. This playlist is a small part of that – the ways cards combine with moments in daily life.
