James Crow and Simon Cluett

Step right up and drop your coin in the slot, but be careful what you ask for! In this session, I sat down with director James Crow and screenwriter Simon Cluett to talk about Harbinger, a British horror movie centered around a creepy fairground fortune-telling machine. Built on a deep love for classic scares, the film was a lovenote to old-school Hammer horror. Shot in a real haunted house with deep, moody shadows, it delivered nightmare galore - complete with an appearance by Doctor Who legend Carol Ann Ford!

It felt only fitting to use tarot cards to interview the guys behind a movie where flipping a card had sinister outcomes. With Crow comparing the wild ride of filmmaking to surviving an Evil Dead movie, and Cluett joking that he was typing from inside a protective chalk pentagram, the energy was wonderfully chaotic.
